For the first time ever, Rakuten Inc. had its own, large, FCB-decorated booth at the Mobile World Congress 2019 held in Barcelona (Feb. 25th-28th).
Of course, the main purpose of this presence was to highlight Rakuten’s upcoming entry (Oct. 2019) as Japan’s 4th mobile network operator through to big technological & alliance-based announcements – mainly focused on a groundbreaking (and the world’s first) end-to-end virtualized cloud-native network. Keynotes from CEO “Mickey” Mikitani, panels & conferences led by CTO Tareq Amin punctuated the 4-day event.
Rakuten Aquafadas on stage
The Japanese global innovation company also wanted to showcase the richness of its global ecosystem and many different business units were invited to attend MWC19, including Rakuten Aquafadas.
As one of the largest Rakuten delegations there, we (Rakuten Aquafadas) drew attention by opening the booth’s first day with a remarkable stage presentation, with Olivier Alluis (CEO), Stéphane Dayras (Pre-Sales Director) & Achille Coenegracht (Global Sales & Business Development Director) putting on a show. They’ve seduced the audience by displaying Rakuten Aquafadas’ outstanding capabilities to provide companies with easy-to-use yet highly innovative solutions for digital & mobile content creation, management and publishing, regardless of devices or platforms.
Our VIP party
Also aiming at building and strengthening connections with partners & clients all around the world, the Rakuten Aquafadas’ team run a VIP evening at FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou on Monday 25th. An unforgettable experience was created including a conference, a guided tour and a private networking party & dinner held in the stadium’s museum in partnership with Ad’Occ, the economic development agency of Occitanie – the French region and birthplace of Rakuten Aquafadas. It was fantastic to hear positive feedback from over 150 people attending this event-packed kick-off to their intense MWC week.
The whole week, many other presentations followed on the Rakuten booth at Fira Granvia, either on stage at dedicated pods, enabling visitors to enjoy interactive demos by Aquafadas’ staff members. A lot of fruitful meetings also took place and gave us a very optimistic outlook on our future collaborations with both partners or clients and their respective projects in digital content publishing.
