Foreword on the store elements

This part presents different types of store elements available in the Next Gen kiosk.
The store elements are displayed as banners in the store, in Cloud Connect.

  • Banner types by:
    • content:
      • Image banner displays the content of a Title, a Category or an Issue.
      • Spotlight displays the content of an Issue.
      • List banner displays the content of a Title or a Category.
      • Grid displays the content of a Title or a Category.

Note

The categories can be filled manually or automatically and they are updated regularly.

  • special actions:
    • HTML5/Web displays a web site of your choice.
    • Video displays a private video or a Youtube video.
    • Store Model allows to get to another store model from the current one.
    • Featured Item groups banners to form an interactive slideshow.
    • Subscription is a banner to manage subscriptions via an image, a Web page, or a Deeplink subscription.

Banner types by content

Image banner type

  • The image banner displays an image. When clicking on the image, it displays the content for:
    • an Issue in detailed view: you navigate through a specific content,
    • a Title: you navigate through its complete list of issues,
    • a Category: you navigate through its complete list of issues or titles.
  • In the Edit tab you can customize the banner:
    • Type: select the type of content: Issue, Title, Category.
    • Sticky option: to keep the banner on top of the store while scrolling down the store.
    • Hidden option: to make invisible the element in the application.
    • Background color: to set the color of your choice in the banner.
    • Alternative images: click on the +DROP OR CLICK button to select three sizes of .PNG images for the banner.
    • Apply height for: according to the device displaying your application, the height of the banner can be adjusted. See table below.

Tip

The banner height to apply is 200 dip for smartphones/phablet and 250 dip for tablets.

You can add a parallax effect on this banner type. For further details see the section called “Parallaxe effects”.

Spotlight banner type

The spotlight banner allows you to highlight a content.

The spotlight banner displays content for:

  • Issue: a specific issue within a Title or a Collection. Available only for Next Gen App.
  • Title: the last issue of the title. The display is automatically dynamic.
  • Category: the first result of the category, according to the queries you defined when creating the category. For example: best sales for Christmas. Available only for Next Gen App.

In the Edit tab you can customize the banner:

  • Label: a customisable text to highlight the name of the spotlight banner.
  • Hidden option: to make invisible the element in the application.
  • Type: select the type of content to spotlight: Issue, Title, Category.
  • Title or Collection: select among the titles or collections of your store.

Note

If you select a Category type, you need to give a Reference.

Note

If you click on More information tab, you have the detailed view of the Issue. To read it, click on the Get tab.

List banner type

The list banner displays a list content for:

  • Title: its complete list of issues.
  • Category: its complete list of issues or titles.

In the Edit tab you can customize the banner:

  • Label: a customisable text to highlight a content of your choice, Title/Category.
  • Type: select a Title or a Category.
  • Sticky option: to keep the banner on top of the store while scrolling down the store.
  • Hidden option: to make invisible the element in the application.
  • Background color: to set the color of your choice in the banner.
  • Has maximum items: to set the number of displayed covers in the banner for a better presentation.
  • Has a “See All” button: to show the rest of the list on another screen, when the maximum items number is inferior to the whole content.
  • Apply height for: 250 dip for smartphones/phablets and 350 dip for tablets.

When clicking on the cover it gives direct access to the complete list of available content.

Grid banner type

The grid banner displays the grid content for:

  • Title: its complete grid of issues.
  • Category: its complete grid of issues and titles. Available only for Next Gen App.

In the Edit tab you can customize the banner:

  • Label: a customisable text to highlight a content of your choice, Title/Category.
  • Type: select a Title or a Category.
  • Hidden option: to make invisible the element in the application.
  • Background color: to set the color of your choice in the banner.
  • Minimum number of elements: to display a minimum number of content covers. The application will optimise the display according to the orientation of the device.

Tip

See all button is available by default to show the rest of the grid in another screen, listed by period or alphabetically.
