Project Settings: Web tab

When you export your document using the Web function, to make and test a Web Reader App, you can define the project settings for the Web Reader here. The supported formats for a picture file are JPEG, PNG, GIFS, SWF.

  • Themes: to save and load themes that you have built for your Web Reader App. For example, if you make changes in the following sections, you can easily save your Theme once you have decided on the look and feel, and user experience within the Web Reader App. When you need to apply this to another project, you can just load the previously saved theme without having to remember all the changes you made to the previous project. You can also save multiple Themes for all of your different publications.

General Settings:

  • Background:
    • Simple: to set the background color and lets you choose the opacity.
    • Image: to set an image for the background.
    • Radial (Default): to set the background as 2 colors in a radial format.
    • Linear: to set the background as 2 colors in linear format.
  • Interface:
    • User Interface Items Color: the color used for icons in the user interface (tool bar, page navigation etc).
    • Items Overlay Color: the color of the overlay that comes as a background of the user interface items.
    • Selected Items Color: the color of the halo that is shown around a selected item.
    • Padding Top: the margin between the top of the browser window and the document page when not zoomed in.
    • Padding Bottom: the margin between the bottom of the browser window and the document page when not zoomed in.
    • Horizontal Margins: the margin between the vertical boundaries of the browser window and the document page when not zoomed in.
    • Auto Hide Interface: to specify if the user interface should be hidden after a short time of non user interactivity.
    • Show Shadow behind Page: to draw the page shadow on the background of the app.
    • Interface Font Name: the user has to specify a common font that has to be mostly available on all computers.
    • Loading Spinner Style: Bar Spinner, External Spinner (a loader in the form of a picture or a flash movie), None.
  • Behaviour:
    • Flash Buttons that can be clicked: each time a new page is displayed, this that can be clicked.
    • Activate Mouse Behaviors (Pan & Zoom): to activate Pan&Zoom for mouse.
    • Activate Keyboard Behaviors (Page Navigation): to allow the page navigation, right for next page and left for previous page.
  • Page Navigation:

  • Show Edged Navigation Arrows: to show the page navigation icons located at the edges (left or right) of the browser window. You can add one picture per icon.
  • Show Side Navigation Arrows: to show the page navigation icons located at the sides (left or right) of the document page. You can add one picture per icon. The color of the Side Navigations Arrow can be different from the color of the other user interface icons because it doesn’t have an overlay.
  • Page Label:
    • Displayed Text: to specify variables that will change for each page: %c: The current page Number %t: The total number of pages. %n: The name of the current page.
    • Color: color of the page label.
    • Size: size of the page label.
    • Page Label Position: below the page, or on the side.
    • Show Page Label Navigation: to show page navigation icons in their reduced forms around the page label.
    • Change Reduced Previous Page: to change the icon picture of the page label navigation.
  • Tool Bar:
  • Display Tool bar: choose whether or not to display the toolbar.
  • Tool Bar Settings:
    • Position: the position of the tool bar changes if you are in AVEPdf or AVEMag. For AVEMag you have to choose between automatic, middle, top, bottom, and for AVEPdf you have to choose between automatic, left, middle, right.
    • Style Smooth Edge: the edges of the tool bar are smoothed, they appear rounded. Sharp Edge: The edges of the tool bar are not smoothed, they appear sharp.
    • Enable Tool Tips: to enable a little help tip that appears near the mouse when it has been pointing for a little moment over an icon. It describes the use of this tool icon.
    • Show icon separators: to draw a little line between each icon.

Menu Items:

  • Fullscreen Button: Open Skin: to change the icon picture of the Go to Fullscreen Button. Close Skin: to change the icon picture of the leave Fullscreen Button Zoom In Button.
  • Zoom In Button: to change the skin for the Zoom in Button.
  • Zoom Bar Bar Size: the length of the zoom bar (height when vertical, width when horizontal). Reversed Bar when vertical, or right to left when horizontal, by default it is the opposite.
  • Zoom Out Button: the button that allows a zooming out in the document page.
  • Expose Button: the button that shows the Expose view that exposes all the articles and all their pages.
  • Help Button: the Help Button that shows help tips of all the user interface elements.

Expose: a view that exposes all the articles and all their pages.

  • Title: the name of the expose view, by default Expose.
  • Text size: the size of the text in the view.
  • Title Color: the color of the Title Text.
  • Title Background Color: the background color that is drawn behind the Title.
  • Background Color: the background color that is drawn behind the whole view.
  • Show Document Name: to show the document Name in the top area of the expose view.
  • Document Name Color: the document name text color.
  • Show Article Name: to show the articles name at the side of each article view.
  • Show Article Count: to show the index of the articles.
  • Scroll Bar: to define the look and the feel of the scroll bar.
  • Edge Smoothness: to define a factor that defines how much the scroll bar should look rounded, from 0 for sharp to 1 for rounded.
  • Thumb Color: the color of the scroll bar thumb.
  • Border Thickness: the size of the border of the thumb.
  • Border Color: the color of the border of thumb.
  • Track Size: whole scrolling path of the scroll bar.
  • Up and down buttons: to display or not the up and down buttons.

    • Full Screen Video Maximum Width: the maximum width of a fullscreen video.
    • Full Screen Video Maximum Height: the maximum height of a fullscreen video.
    • Auto hide sublayout buttons: to hide the sub layout buttons when user not interactive.
    • Auto hide Slide show buttons: to hide the slide show buttons when user not interactive.
  • Enrichments Scroll Bar:
    • Thickness: the thickness (width) of the scroll bar.
    • Edge Smoothness: to define a factor that defines how much the scroll bar should look rounded, from 0 for sharp to 1 for rounded.
    • Thumb Color: the color of the scroll bar thumb.
    • Border Thickness: the size of the border of the thumb.
    • Border Color: the color of the border of thumb.
    • Track Size: the size of scroll bar track. The track is the line that defines the whole scrolling path of the scroll bar.
    • Track Color: the color of the track.
    • Horizontal Border Margin: the horizontal margin between the scroll bar and the element border when vertical scrolling. Can be negative to place the scroll bar outside the element.
    • Vertical Border Margin: the vertical margin between the scroll bar and the element border when horizontal scrolling, can be negative to place scroll bar outside the element.
    • AutoHide: to auto hide the scroll bar after a while when user non interactive.
    • Up and Down Buttons: to show Up and Down button around the scroll bar.
    • Floating Buttons: to define if the Up and Down button should be placed around the thumb and moved along it, or if they should be permanently fixed on the top and the bottom of the scroll bar.
    • Button Size: the button height when scrolling vertically, and width when scrolling horizontally.
    • Button Gap: the space between the buttons and the thumb when the buttons are floating.
  • Image Comparator Slide: the slider used in the image comparator to choose between multiple images.
    • Thumb Color: the color of the slider bar thumb.
    • Bar Color: the bar or the track of the slider. It defines its color.
    • Panel Color: the color of the panel that appears above the slider and contains the images to choose.
    • Panel Width: the width of this panel.
    • Panel Height: the height of this panel.
    • Panel Gap: the space between the panel and the slider.
