Test an ePub file

Once your ePub is generated and saved on your computer, you can test it on a device before publishing it.

You can test the ePub on iOS and/or Android devices.

You can test an ePub directly on your computer, Windows or MAC. You need to install ePub compatible applications: iBooks, Kobo, Google Play Books, etc., and then open the ePub file.

Test an ePub for iOS

To test an ePub on iOS devices you need to have ePub applications installed and to:

  1. Connect a device to your computer, if you send the file via iTunes and open with iBooks.
  2. Send the ePub file to the device:
  • via transfer file services: Dropbox, email, WeTransfer, etc.
  • via iOS applications on a MAC computer: iTunes. For Windows computers, you upload the ePub file via iTunes.

3. Open the file with iBooks.

Test an ePub for Android

To test an ePub on Android devices you need to have ePub applications installed and to:

  1. Connect a device to your computer, if you send the file via Android applications.
  2. Send the ePub file to the device:
  • via transfer file services: Dropbox, email, WeTransfer, etc.
  • via Android applications on a MAC computer: Airdroid, Android file transfer, etc. For Windows computers, you connect the device and drop the ePub file.

3. Drop the saved ePub file on the device.

4. Open the file with an application for the ePub file. Aquafadas recommends the Kobo application. You can find it on Google Play store.
