Rakuten Aquafadas makes key appointments
Rakuten Aquafadas, leader in digital publishing and app creation, part of the Rakuten Group, makes key appointments in early 2018 by announcing Olivier Alluis as new CEO and Florian Lemoine as new CTO, effective from 1st January 2018. Previously in July 2017, more than 10 years from the startup launch, the company rebranded to become Rakuten Aquafadas. After a decade of successful software innovation they developed into a fully dedicated Rakuten B2B business unit, specialising in innovative digital content and apps solutions. All designed to improve sales productivity, boost internal workflows, and offer unique marketing and talent onboarding content experiences.
Florian Lemoine joined the company in October 2007 as a web developer, becoming CIO in March 2017 when Aquafadas integrated closely with the Rakuten Group. And he has now been appointed as a new CTO.
Before becoming Rakuten Aquafadas CEO, Olivier Alluis was an innovation center lead at IBM, and started at Rakuten Aquafadas in September 2017 as Deputy General Manager alongside president Yasufumi Hirai.
“When I joined Yasufumi Hirai told me that things are moving fast at Rakuten”, said Olivier Alluis. “I’m really happy about all the projects we’ve already delivered and I’ll focus on further straightening and accelerating our expansion. Rakuten Aquafadas has entered a new chapter. I would also like to thank Thomas Ribreau and Koichiro Takahara, former CTO and CEO, for all their work and efforts in building the company as it is today and I wish them the best of luck in the future”.
With decades of experience in technology sector, Olivier Alluis has brought invaluable skills to expand company’s presence and create closer links with Rakuten Europe as well as the European network. He has also been focusing on the impending move to the new HQ offices and the overall company vision.
Working alongside Florian Lemoine, who focuses on closer collaboration with the Japanese tech team, Rakuten Aquafadas will also benefit from presence of Julien Bataillé, Developer Experience Group Manager at Rakuten Group, now based in Montpellier. Julien Bataillé’s key goal is development of Rakuten App Studio to enable developers quickly build, deploy and manage native and hybrid apps for iOS, Android and web.
Florian Lemoine : “There are two sides to this new powerful relationship. Rakuten App Studio will benefit from Rakuten Aquafadas’ expertise around digital content apps and platform management. On the other hand, our technology will be boosted by the Rakuten Group R&D knowledge. Julien Bataille, who has worked in Tokyo for the last five years will support us in this new close collaboration with Japan.”
